二二八連假第一天，許多人把握好天氣出遊，不過，不少民眾抱怨，一上了國道就像是開進一個大停車場，進退不得。而高公局交管組也指出，二二八連假的特性就是短程的用路人會特別多，因此北部地區才會大塞車，像是桃園、新竹以及國道五號都已經出現嚴重回堵狀況，呼籲有計畫出遊的民眾及早改道。(陳葦庭報導)

連假第一天！是趁著好天氣到郊外走走的好時機，不過，許多民眾抱怨，國道一早就變停車場，像是國道五號往宜蘭就從南港一路塞到坪林，時速只有三十公里，另外，桃園到新竹路段也十分壅塞，還有中部國一王田到埔鹽、國三快官到霧峰也是車多不好走。

對此，高公局交管組組長呂文玉說，許多民眾會利用二二八連假出遊，短程的用路人比較多，所以北部地區塞車情況特別嚴重，特別是國道五號已經回堵到國道三號，呼籲要前往宜蘭的用路人務必改走台二線或台九線。

而高公局也預估，二二八當天國道車流將上看兩百四十萬輛次，提醒民眾多利用晚上十一點到隔天上午六點的免收費時段，避開車流。
